Mini MAX
The
CSI Wireless Mini MAX is a high-accuracy GPS receiver that
receives corrections from both Space Based Augmentation Systems
(SBAS) and DGPS beacon stations. When using either service,
the Mini MAX provides sub-meter positioning accuracy with
update rates of up to five times per second (5 Hz). The mini
MAX also features advanced COAST™ technology that enables
it to use old correction data for a half hour or longer without
significant degradation of accuracy.
The Mini MAX's internal SX-1 GPS engine receives the United
States' Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS), the European
GPS Navigation Overlay System (EGNOS), and the soon-to-be-operational
Japan Civil Aviation Bureau's MTSAT Satellite Augmentation
System (MSAS). Each of these SBAS services is free and inter-operable,
providing coverage for most of North America, Europe, and
Japan, respectively. Similar to the MBX-3S, ABX-3, and SBA-1,
the Mini MAX's internal SBX beacon module provides free corrections
when operating in range of worldwide beacon networks.
The Mini MAX is similar to the DGPS MAX, although the MAX
has a different menu system and is capable of receiving worldwide
OmniSTAR signals. The Mini MAX requires power and antenna
input, and serial connection to a data logging device or navigation
system. It is designed for easy use with the MGL-3 antenna.
